“Soror Terri Johnson served as the lead chapter advisor during the reactivation of the Beta Iota Chapter at the University of the District of Columbia in 2006. Her impact on every member of that line, especially me, is immeasurable. She led with a perfect blend of business-minded discipline and genuine love, instilling in us a deep respect for protocol, tradition, and the true meaning of sisterhood. Under her guidance, I grew into a confident leader, and our chapter grew into an award-winning one — earning recognition for exemplary programming and Soror Terri won the well-deserved honor of Chapter Advisor of the Year. She didn't just reactivate a chapter; she built a foundation of purpose, excellence, and sisterhood that we carry with us to this day.”

I am pleased to support Soror Terri as a candidate for Eastern Region Member for the National Finance Committee. I was initiated in Spring 1998 at Mu Beta Chapter at The George Washington University and served as Chapter President from 1998 – 1999. Soror Terri welcomed my line sisters and me with open arms. As our advisor she was intentional in helping our chapter build a strong financial foundation by ensuring we understood our roles, responsibilities and expectations. She also developed templates and tools that supported efficiency and consistency in carrying out our duties.

After graduation, I joined The Federal City Alumnae Chapter (FCAC) to continue serving our sisterhood with Terri’s guidance. She has been a steady, consistent mentor throughout my Delta journey. Although we are no longer members of the same alumnae chapter, Soror Terri helped provide the foundation upon which I continue to serve. She demonstrated the importance of serving both our communities and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. through her hard work, innovative programs, and unwavering commitment within The FCAC.

Her extensive service at the national, regional and local levels demonstrates exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to the mission and values of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Through her work in financial operations, leadership development, training, mentoring, and program development, she has consistently contributed to the growth and success of our sisterhood. Her experience, knowledge, and proven record of service make her highly qualified for this position.

Please know that you will not only have a qualified and competent person in this position, but also a woman of God whose integrity, joyful spirit, and servant leadership inspire those around her. I wholeheartedly support Soror Terri’s candidacy and am confident she will serve with excellence, professionalism, and dedication as Eastern Region Member for the National Finance Committee.

It is with immense pleasure that I write this testimonial for Soror Terri A. Johnson. I have known Terri for over forty years. She is my linesister and friend who has been a phenomenal Delta leader. At every level, she has always taken pride in her duties and responsibilities, learning all she could and sharing that knowledge with others to help them grow into leaders, as well. Her financial acumen has been reflected in her ability to mentor, educate, and empower collegiate sorors in sound financial practices. She thrives on being able to help others achieve their goals, an act of a true leader. Terri has been instrumental in not only developing new sorors but also in keeping, not only those she has mentored, but all she encounters involved and engaged.  There is no one more fit for this role than Terri.

There are many words that I could use to describe Soror Terri A. Johnson; like, strong mentor, proven leader, outstanding trainer and beyond trustworthy. But the words that describe her best are loyal and true friend.

I have known Soror Terri for over 40 years when she welcomed me into the Mu Beta Chapter at the George Washington University.  She was my undergraduate chapter’s First Vice-President.

In 1988, we joined The Federal City Alumnae Chapter, learning and growing as leaders. Soror Terri and I expanded the HBCU college tour, developed College Bound or Bust college preparation workshops, birthed Community Day and wrote a DREF community grant for the FCAC’s first EMBODI Town Hall Meeting.

But what truly sets Soror Terri apart, is that she is principled, has unwavering ethics, is dependable and functions with absolute transparency.
