As an elected Eastern Region Member, National Finance Committee 2008-2013, it is a
pleasure to support Soror Terri Johnson for Eastern Region Member, National Finance
Committee! Soror Terri and I met over twenty years ago when our beloved Soror Cheryl A.
Hickmon brought us together. We were appointed to serve on the Economic Development
Committee’s Homeownership Initiative under Soror Hickmon's leadership as Eastern Regional Director.

I am delighted to support Soror Terri A. Johnson for the Eastern Region Member of the National Finance Committee of our beloved sisterhood. Our journey together began when the region elected us to serve on the 2009 Eastern Region Nominating Committee; she served as a member, and I served as the committee chair. Soror Terri played an integral role in educating sorors in the Eastern Region about the nominating process. She also played a major role in bringing forth a full slate of candidates in the 2009 regional nominating cycle. One of Soror
Terri’s on-site tasks, which she performed exceedingly well, was verifying and reviewing the Candidate Financial Report Form, which included campaign donations and expenses.
Over the years, we have served together as Certified Delta Internal Development Trainers and Membership Intake Trainers. She is a thoughtful and engaging trainer whose style reflects patience and preparation.
Our collaboration continued, as I have had the pleasure of working with Soror Terri Johnson, Co-Chair of the Eastern Region Charter, Reactivation, and Expansion Committee. Soror Terri is resourceful, thorough, and committed to providing guidance and post-charter support that strengthens the success and sustainability of chapters in the Eastern Region.
With full confidence in her capabilities, her commitment to our Sisterhood, and her proven record of excellence, I proudly support Soror Terri A. Johnson for Eastern Region Member of the National Finance Committee.

I am pleased to offer this testimonial in support of Soror Terri Johnson as she seeks the office of Eastern Region Member of the National Finance Committee. I met Soror Terri over twenty years ago when we served as officers for our investment club. As a past Eastern Region Member of the National Scholarship and Standards Committee, I have had the responsibility of helping to uphold the policies of our sorority. Serving in that role gave me a deeper appreciation for the importance of compliance, accountability, integrity, and sound judgment in protecting the standards of our beloved Sisterhood.
In addition to my national service, I have also served as chapter Treasurer, chapter President, and Co-Chair of the Finance Committee, which allows me to personally understand the knowledge, discipline, and attention to detail required of fiscal officers. I have confidence in Soror Terri's ability to bring experience, professionalism, and a spirit of collaboration to the National Finance Committee. Her background reflects a strong commitment to responsible leadership, transparency, and sisterly support. I have known Terri Johnson in a variety of capacities for almost all of the 42 years she has been a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I was the Secondary Advisor when she was the Primary Advisor to the Beta Iota Chapter at the University of the District of Columbia. I saw firsthand the natural, sisterly, and supportive way she interacted with our collegiate sorors. Soror Terri served as Treasurer when I served two terms as President of The Federal City Alumnae Chapter. I truly cannot overstate how exceptional she was in that position. She is not only incredibly responsible and detail-oriented, but also deeply trustworthy. I had complete peace of mind and knew that every detail would be handled with care, accuracy, and integrity. Anyone who has the opportunity to work with her can feel just as confident as I did.
Soror Terri is organized, efficient, extremely competent, and she has an excellent rapport with Sorors of all ages. Her communication skills, both written and verbal, are excellent.
Soror Terri’s service at the local, regional, and national levels has equipped her with knowledge, skill, and understanding of the Sorority’s fiscal responsibilities, procedures, and operations. I am confident that she can effectively fulfill the duties of Eastern Region Member of the National Finance Committee. I’m Banking on Terri – you should too!
Soror Sandra Griffin
Past President, The Federal City Alumnae Chapter
Growing up, I had the privilege of watching Terri lead by example every single day. As
her younger sister, I learned so much from her - not just about responsibility and work ethic, but about what it means to truly care for the people and the organizations you're a part of. Financial stewardship has always been important in our family. With our mother serving two terms as the National Tamiochus (Treasurer) of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., we understood that managing finances isn't just about the numbers - it's about integrity, accountability, and setting others up for success. Terri embodies all of that. Whether it's managing family finances related to special events, helping others stay organized, or finding solutions to challenges, she approaches every task with integrity and professionalism. In many ways, she inspired me to pursue a similar financial path in my own chapter and a lot of what she taught me is still valuable and cherished today. I know, and can say without hesitation, that she will be an incredible asset to our Sorority as the Eastern Region Member of the National Finance Committee.
She is one of the most responsible and trustworthy people that I know, always
making thoughtful decisions and following through on her commitments, with care and confidence. Beyond her skills, she is the heart of what sisterhood should be. Her dedication, reliability, and genuine love for our sisterhood make her the perfect soror to uphold Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s legacy of financial success and stability.
If I'm ever lucky enough to get the final word as the younger sister, it would be just one
word: PROUD - because in all she does, in who she is, and in how she leads, that is what she has always made me feel!

I have known Soror Terri for almost 20 years and am thrilled to support her candidacy for National Finance Committee Member to represent OUR region. Together, we were elected to serve on the Nominating Committee for the Eastern Region. Through those two years alone, I can attest to Soror Terri’s diligence, keen eye for process and order, organizational skills, goals for intentional messaging, and ease of collaborating with her on a team. While we all had ideas about approach, Soror Terri was able to help build consensus, keep us on task, and make ideas cohesive, clear, and manageable. She reviewed and explained all the financial accounting guidelines in committee workshops and submissions for the slated candidates.
Beyond that time, her work in finance-adjacent roles, as a DID & MIT trainer, as a Policies and Procedures Committee Chair, and serving as a long-term advisor to two chapters, among other roles, has been fitting for her expertise and skill set. I was not surprised when she won Advisor of the Year for her impact! Leadership has trusted her to teach and help guide many Sorors, both collegiate & alumnae, in understanding, complying, and administering national guidelines, maintaining obligations, and meeting reporting requirements. Professionally, she is trusted to do the same in her career, which I believe makes her specifically qualified to be successful in this role. I do not doubt that the Eastern Region can bank on Soror Terri!
